Natural wallcovering — handwoven from abaca fiber

Abaca is woven from the leaf fiber of the abaca plant, a relative of the banana prized for its strength and natural sheen. Each bolt comes from the same dye bath but reads differently depending on fiber thickness, sheen, and weave density — subtle variation that gives every roll its own quiet character.

This is a material that installs with visible seams by design. The join between panels draws the eye horizontally across the weave rather than to the seam line itself — which is why abaca reads as a continuous surface rather than tiled panels, even with joins present.
